1. What is med ej?
med ej is the official e-journal of The Tamilnadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai. The articles for this e-journal will be the scientific papers submitted by the Post Graduate students of this University. The same is necessary for issue of hall ticket for the students.
2. Do I need an internet connection to submit this article?
Yes, you definitely need an internet connection to access and submit the scientific paper.
3. How can I submit the article in med ej?
Go to the URL http://medej.tnmgrmu.ac.in and click on the menu "Submit Paper". In that landing page enter your registration number and date of birth to get your password and login. Then complete the verification to submit the article.
4. What is Registration Number?
This is a unique number provided by The Tamilnadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University to every student while joining the course.
5. Which Registration Number should I use?
You have to use the Registration Number provided by The Tamilnadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University while joining the course.
6. How can I generate a password for med ej?
Go to the Uploading section of med ej by clicking the "Submit Paper" menu on the top. In the login page you have to enter the Registration Number and your date of birth. Click on the text "click here" in between the sentence above the password text-box. If your Registration Number and date of birth matches the University record, med ej will generate a password and send it to your Mobile number and email ID available in the University record. You have to use this password to login to the uploading section. Look into the video help section available under the 'Help' menu.
7. Which Password should I use to Login?
The password for med ej is unique and will be generated by med ej as specified in the above process. This password will not be shared with any other e-journals. The same way, you cannot use the password generated by anyother ejournals.
8. What kind of report can I submit?
You can submit Case Reports & Research work for med ej. However, we recommend you to contact your Unit Cheif / Professor before deciding about your Scientific Paper. Because your Unit Chief / Professor is the author & the student is the co-author.
9. Can I submit Dissertation?
No, dissertation will not be accepted as a Scientific Paper.
10. Can I submit a Scientific Paper which is out of Syllabus?
No, the content of the Scientific Paper should fall within the Syllabus. The content of the scientific paper should be within the syllabus prescribed for your speciality by our university. Out of syllabus scientific papers shall be rejected, even if they are approved by the reviewer, and you will be asked to submit a new scientific paper to med ej.
11. Can we have the same email ID for more than one student?
No, each student should have an email ID. If they do have so, the list will be shown under incomplete information data.
12. Do I need to enter the entire content at one go?
Not necessarily. You can use the 'Save as Draft' feature to save whatever you have entered at regular intervals so that you don’t lose this due to any unexpected problems. You can log in again to continue from wherever you have left.
13. Will the article be submitted automatically if it is saved using ‘Save as Draft’?
No, the article will be considered as submitted only you press the ‘Submit’ button.
14. I have submitted the article but want to make some changes. How can I do it?
Sorry, you cannot edit an article that is submitted.
15. I did not receive the password through email?
In case you did not find the email in your 'Inbox' check the Spam / Junk folder. Also make sure you have added medejsupport@tnmgrmu.ac.in in your safe sender list. If still you did not receive the password, contact med ej team by sending an email to medejsupport@tnmgrmu.ac.in mentioning your registration number, name, date of birth, College name, Course name, Specialty, mobile number and email ID as per the University records.
16. I got a message saying the account is locked. How can I open it again?
If you enter incorrect data 3 times then your account will be locked. Try after 24 hours to log in again with the correct data.
17. Can I upload my article in word or PDF format?
No, you have to key in the data into the CMS given. But you can copy and paste the content into the CMS from any word processing software.
18. How do I submit my article in med ej?
Please watch the online video available under the ‘Help’ menu.
19. When will be the article displayed in the med ej?
The scientific paper should be accepted by the Professor / Unit chief of the student. Then, one of the reviewers who have been designated in the panel by the University, should approve the same. The student & the Professor / Unit chief of the student will receive the first page of the paper only when the reviewer approves the paper. The scientific papers will be published only on receipt of the endorsed copy of the first page.
20. How can you save the scientific paper temporarily before submitting to med ej?
You can save your scientific paper temporarily in med ej by clicking "Save as Draft" button which is available at the bottom of the uploading section.
21. Why "Preview"?
"Preview" will help the students to view their scientific paper before submitting it to med ej.
22. Not able to edit the scientific paper?
This is because you have submitted the scientific paper to med ej. You can not edit it after submission.
23. What should I do when my scientific paper is disapproved?
When a scientific paper is disapproved, the reviewer would have specified the reason for disapproval. Based on that feedback, correct the content of your scientific paper and resubmit the scientific paper again. You will have to login again into med ej's uploading section as you have done before and submit the corrected scientific paper afresh. The procedure for submitting the scientific paper is same.
24. What should I do when a reviewer suggested to resubmit my scientific paper?
When a reviewer suggested to resubmit your scientific paper, he / she would have specified the reason for the re-submission. Based on that feedback, correct the content of your scientific paper and resubmit the same scientific paper. You will have to login again into med ej's uploading section as you have done before and submit the corrected scientific paper afresh. The procedure for re-submitting the scientific paper is same.
25. Will I get Hall Tickets if my paper is disapproved?
University will Issue hall tickets if only your paper is approved by a reviewer.
26. Is there any time limit for submitting a scientific paper?
You should submit your paper atleast 2 or 3 months before your exam begins, so that if a reviewer disapproves your scientific paper, you will have time to resubmit again with the corrections or submit a new one.
27. What is the style followed by med ej?
med ej follows Vancouver style.
28. How do I add references?
You can add references at the end of your content. There is no separate input box given.
29. How many Co-Authors can I add in my scientific paper?
You can add upto 2 Co-Authors in your scientific paper. Any how, adding this information should be done before submitting the scientific paper to med ej. Once the paper submitted for process, you cannot add or modify Co-Author information in the later stage.
30. Why I have been logged out of my paper submission once I click on any one of the button?
This is a security feature of this application. The user should click on ‘Save as Draft’ button every 10 minutes to avoid losing data. If you do not do so then the application will automatically log you out while submitting the Scientific Paper.
31. How to avoid automated log out?
Any user who logged in successfully should click on "Save as Draft" button every 10 minutes. This will avoid losing the connectivity between the server and the user.
32. How do I know the status of my Scientific Paper at any point of time?
You would have received an email from medejsupport@tnmgrmu.ac.in once you submit the scientific paper to med ej. You need to click on the link "click here" on a regular basis to know the status of your scientific paper.
33. What should I do when I type the email id of my author wrongly?
You need to wait for 3 days from the date of the submission. med ej will unlock your scientific paper by which you can modify and resubmit it.
34. What should I do when my author does not respond?
If your author did not respond for more than 3 days from the date of the submission, med ej will unlock your scientific paper by which you can resubmit it.
35. Why am I getting this message "You are not authorized to view", when I click on the link given in the email?
If you are an author, it could be because of:
  1. You might have evaluated the Scientific paper submitted by your student already.
  2. It may be more than 72 hours since your student submitted his scientific paper. As you have not responded within the 72 Hours of submission, the scientific paper would have been sent back to your student. He/She has to resubmit to med ej.
If you are a reviewer, it could be because of:
  1. You might have evaluated the Scientific paper already.
  2. It may be more than 7 days since med ej assigned this scientific paper to you. As you have not responded within the 7 days of submission, the scientific paper would have been sent to another reviewer.
36. Can I upload movies within my Scientific Paper content?
As a policy, med ej will not allow the student to upload videos within their Scientific Paper content.
